Admission criteria for a flexible study right

Study rights can be granted if there is room in the study groups and if the applicant has the skills and motivation required for participating in the studies (a level test or preliminary assignment will be organized if needed).

Basic studies in the arts or a solid educational background in the fine arts are required of students seeking to take part in the artistic studies in the study programs of the Academy of Fine Arts. JOO students from science universities, who do not possess a degree in the fine arts, are allowed to take theoretical and general studies.

Duration of the flexible study right

Study rights are mainly granted for the term/terms when the studies take place. The maximum duration of a flexible study right is two academic years.

The flexible study right only applies to the courses that are agreed upon. The study right ends at the latest when the student graduates.

Submission of the application

An application that is endorsed at the home university is automatically sent to the host university in the Joopas service.

Starting your flexible studies

The student can mainly begin studies directly after receiving the study right or when the course that has been agreed upon starts.

Credit transfer

The student must order an official transcript of records from the academy’s student services office after she/he has received the credits for the studies (4 weeks after the course has ended). The student delivers the transcript of records to the home university.
