Confluence version will be updated to 4.3.7 on thu 2014-07-24, starting at 15:00 UTC+3.
The update will end support for confluence internal calendar plugin, calendars can still be shown with the google calendar integration plugin.
New features include e.g. table sorting.
Today was once again the 1st friday of the month, and the time of the scheduled monthly confluence.csc.fi maintenance break, starting at 16:00 UTC+2.
The agenda was to patch a recent security bug, and if possible, upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2.
After working on the system for 3 h 30 min, confluence was upgraded from 4.1.10 to 4.2.13, and the security flaw patched. Trouble was, the calendar plugin stopped working.
Since there were only a few page edits done during the maintenance break, I decided to roll back to 4.1.10 from a snapshot. This way, the calendar will still work for the projects using it. Any edits made during the maintenance break were lost and will have to be done again, sorry for the inconvenience.
The maintenance was finished by applying the security patch to 4.1.10.
We will study the calendar plugin more. Unless we find a solution how to port it to 4.2.13 or higher, internal calendars will have to be phased out. Google calendars should still work. The other costly alternative is team calendars (for 10000 users).
The login server that manages confluence.csc.fi, jira.csc.fi, info.funet.fi and other services will be updated on fri 31.1.2014 at 15:00 UTC+3. Existing sessions should work, but new logins cannot be made while the update is in progress. Estimated length of update is 3 h.
After the update, openid service should become available from crowd.
Due to christmas vacation, an exception will be made in the monthly first friday update cycle of confluence.csc.fi.
There will be a maintenance break of confluence starting at 14:00 UTC+2 on fri 27.12.2013. Mostly small tweaks.

Please arrange your schedules so that the downtime will hinder only minimally any meetings or processes.
In the future, confluence.csc.fi will have a maintenance window on the first friday of every month at 16-18 UTC+2. The service is not guaranteed to be available during that time.
I have reports from several users that they cannot login to confluence even with multiple browsers. One possible culprit is the indexing of confluence itself.
My plan is to rebuild the indexes from scratch today evening, starting at 17:00.
This will result in at least 30min break in the service.
There will be a short pause in confluence.csc.fi server on fri 4.1.2013 at 15:00 UTC+2. The server will receive more memory for smoother operation.
There will be a version update break on fri 2012-12-27, starting at 15:00 UTC+2.
Login trouble? Restart your browser.
Confluence has been upgraded to version 4.0.3. At least one more update will follow.
confluence.csc.fi was upgraded to version 4.0.7.
In order to fix a security hole and cause minimal disturbance to the installed plugins, the server was updated from 4.0.3 to 4.0.7 on fri 2012-12-28, starting at 15:00 UTC+2.
This shouldn't have caused much disturbance since christmas holidays mean low usage of the server
At the same time, a table filter plugin was installed:
There will be a short maintenance break today at 16:00 UTC+2 to renew the SSL certificate on the site.
Result: the update was succesful. At the same time fixed searching to use UTF-8 charset and modified crowd.csc.fi to offer the full certificate path.
Confluence logins are not working. The administrators are working to fix the issue. 09:05 GMT+3
09:55: Fixed. After updates, crowd.csc.fi had IPv6 firewall issues. You can test getting the cookies manually by accessing crowd with it's IP address: IPv4 . For IPv6, replace numbers in previous URL with [2001:708:10:6004::18] (manual because of bug 10771)
While upgrading and maintaining the confluence this friday evening, a new plugin was enabled: community bubbles. It provides forum functionalities for pages that need them.

Confluence upgrade ran into problems on fri 2012-07-13. Next upgrade window is on wed 2012-07-18 16:00 UTC+3. You can use the service as usual meanwhile.
Confluence will be updated in several steps in July. The second update window is scheduled for fri 2012-07-13 starting at 16:00 UTC+3. Back up your calendars if you use them!
Jira got updated from version 4.3.3 -> 4.4.4. Confluence update was postponed. The confluence update will disable existing calendar plugins (Calendar Plugin and Google Calendar Plugin), the replacement is a newer version of Google Calendar Plugin.https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/net.customware.confluence.plugin.google.calendar
Maintainers of current spaces that use calendars are advised to contact confluence(at)csc.fi for transition planning.
IE9 does not work well with Confluence, eg., comments cannot be created. This is a known issue. Possible workaround: click the 'compatibility mode' icon in IE9 and try again.
